The quality of starting materials dramatically influences the properties of the final cellular product. For the development of applications involving cellular therapies, strict procedures according to GMP guidelines are mandatory. All materials used, such as antibodies, antigens, cytokines, cell culture bags, and cell culture media, must comply with GMP specifications.

MACS® GMP Media

MACS® GMP Media have been developed for the demands of specific cell types, such as T cells, regulatory T cells, HSCs, PSCs, or MSCs. These high performance media enable excellent growth or differentiation, high cell viability, and consistency under serum-free conditions. Filling in flexible bags allows seamless GMP-compliant manufacturing of cellular products. Consistently high product standards are ensured by functional testing of every batch during quality control and extensive documentation including product quality certificates, product data sheets, and regulatory support files.

TexMACS medium

TexMACS GMP Medium is specialized for optimal cultivation of human T cells and Treg cells. It is manufactured without animal-derived components. TexMACS GMP Medium is either filled in bottles or flexible bags, making handling in GMP confirming processes easy.

StemMACS MSC XF and MSC Brew medium

MSC-Brew GMP Medium is an optimized and standardized medium for the generation and expansion of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from human bone marrow (BM) or other tissue sources. The formulation of MSC-Brew GMP Medium is designed to efficiently support the expansion of MSCs in vitro while maintaining their differentiation potential. The medium is xeno- and serum-free and is manufactured under strictly controlled conditions using ingredients of the highest quality. MSC-Brew GMP Medium offers consistent lot-to-lot performance and optimal conditions for the cultivation of MSCs.

Cell stimulation kits
T cell TransAct
MACS®GMP T Cell TransAct™ for T cell activation via CD3 CD28 in clinical research. Suited for cell manufacturing according to GMP guidelines, the MACS® GMP Grade reagent is intended for in vitro stimulation and expansion of human T cells. It is optimized for automated cell culture such as CAR T cell manufacturing on the CliniMACS Prodigy®.
  • MACS GMP T Cell TransAct: The reagent is optimized to activate and expand 1×108 enriched T cells.
  • MACS GMP T Cell TransAct - Large Scale: The reagent is optimized to activate and expand up to 4×108 enriched T cells.
Applications:
MACS® GMP T Cell TransActTM is intended for the in vitro stimulation and expansion of human T cells from hematological cell populations (e.g. PBMC or enriched T cells).

PepTivator Peptide Pool 
MACS® GMP-Grade PepTivator® Peptide Pools consist of lyophilized overlapping oligopeptides (mainly 15-mer), covering the complete sequence of the respective antigen. PepTivator Peptide Pools, recombinant proteins, and lysates have been designed for efficient in vitro stimulation and subsequent isolation of antigen-specific CD4+ and CD8+ T cells. These products have been developed for the separation with the CliniMACS Cytokine Capture System and are manufactured under strict quality assessment and in accordance with relevant GMP guidelines.

MACS® GMP Vectofusin®-1 (Order no. 170-076-165)

MACS GMP Vectofusin-1 is a non-toxic histidin-rich amphipathic peptide which exerts as viral transduction enhancer. Unlike other transduction enhancers, it is not dependent on immobilization of target cells and therefore compatible with automated processes.

Viral transduction of suspension cells using retroviral vectors is often inefficient and requires the use of transduction enhancers. MACS GMP Vectofusin-1 is a fully synthetic, non-toxic, cationic amphipathic peptide with viral transduction enhancing capacity, enabling higher transduction levels with low amounts of retroviral vector. MACS GMP Vectofusin-1 promotes the entry of several retroviral pseudo-types into target cells when added to the culture medium.
