gentleMACS™ Tissue Dissociators and Tubes offer everything you need to reliably obtain viable single cells from any tissue. The combination of gentleMACS Tubes and Dissociators enables automated operation for standardized gentle dissociation or thorough homogenization on your benchtop. Start smart and preserve surface epitopes, as well as functionality of your cells of interest.
The gentleMACS™ Dissociators are a family of bench top instruments used for automated and standardized dissociation or homogenization of virtually any tissue. Viable single-cell suspensions are efficiently obtained by using our unique C Tubes in combination with our tissue-specific enzyme kits, whereas thorough homogenates are easily obtained by using the unique M Tubes. After processing, samples can be used for any cellular and molecular downstream analysis. Over 2,500 publications citing gentleMACS Technology proves that our devices can assist your research in multiple ways, such as
- generation of highly viable single-cell suspensions in a fast, standardized, automated, and user-independent way,
- ready-to-use tissue specific enzyme combinations with lot-to-lot consistency,
- optimized protocols preserve cellular composition and surface epitopes,
- single-use consumables minimize cross-contamination and allow easy disposal,
- closed and sterile system reduces handling hazards.

Keep it fresh – store tissue and keep its primary state
- The MACS® Tissue Storage Solution has been developed to allow an optimized storage of fresh organ and tissue samples without showing background effects like cell activation or apoptosis induction. It has been tested and validated on a variety of human and murine tissues including tumors, skin, heart, spleen, brain, and skeletal muscle.

• MACS Tissue Storage Solution represents a robust and convenient solution for short-term storage of different tissue samples and organs.
• Cell viability, cellular composition, and activation status of cells are well preserved for at least 48 hours.
• MACS Tissue Storage Solution prevents cellular stress responses, since changes in cellular stress-related gene expression levels were kept to a minimum compared to fresh sample material.
Be gentle – get viable cells with preserved epitopes

Clean it – remove cell aggregates and other unwanted material
Innovative cell strainers and cleaning reagents help you to tune your sample for your downstream application by the removal of cell aggregates, debris, or other unwanted material, such as myelin, dead cells, or erythrocytes.
gentleMACS™Technology
gentleMACS Technology allows fully automated tissue dissociation in a closed and sterile system to generate tissue lysates or viable single-cell suspensions with high viability and preserved surface epitopes. With the unique combination of alternating incubation time of enzymatic digestion and mechanical disruption, enzyme activity and shearing forces are lowered to a minimum. This makes gentleMACS Technology the most gentle and convenient method for standardized and reproducible tissue dissociation.
gentleMACS™ Dissociators—Automated tissue dissociation on your bench
The gentleMACS, gentleMACS Octo Dissociators and gentleMACS Octo Dissociator with Heaters offer reliable tissue dissociation and thorough homogenization with pre-defined programs and
parallel sample processing. The gentleMACS can process two samples in parallel with over 40 predefined programs. The gentleMACS Octo can process eight samples in parallel or independently and allows for the creation of user-defined programs. The gentleMACS Octo Dissociator with Heaters extends the basic features of the gentleMACS Octo Dissociator for maximum convenience, flexibility, and efficiency.
